بیوگرافی
عبدالله جعفری علوی شاعر و نقاش خودآموخته، اهل افغانستان است. شعرها و نقاشی‌های او به موضوعات مهاجرت، هویت، خاطره و تروما می‌پردازد. علوی در چند نمایشگاه انفرادی و گروهی از جمله در شهرهای کابل، مشهد و آدلاید استرالیا شرکت کرده است. او همچنین در زمینه طرح جلد کتاب فعال بوده و تاکنون بیش از 30 طرح جلد برای کتاب‌هایی در زمینه شعر و داستان عمدتن از نویسندگان افغانستان طراحی کرده است.
Abdullah Jafari Alavi is a multi-disciplinary visual artist, poet and designer currently based in Mashhad, Iran. He explores the themes of migration, trauma, identity, racism, and memory in the forms of painting, performance, video and poetry. In his recent works, he investigates his identity as a member of the Hazara Shia ethnic minority and its long history of discrimination and internal and external racism. Alavi has exhibited in a number of art spaces including BoonBast Gallery (Mashad), Qaqnoos (Kabul) and Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, University of South Australia (Adelaide, Australia). Abdullah has been collaborating with his brother Elyas Alavi on several projects.
His first poetry book “فالش/ Faalsh” was published by Nasl-eNow Publisher in early Aug 2021 in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Alavi also worked as an illustrator and cover book designer. He has illustrated and designed more than 40 poetry books, novel books, and catalogues in Afghanistan Iran. Furthermore, he composed four music pieces for experimental short films by emerging Afghan filmmakers.

Note: Abdulla’s full name in legal documents is “Sayed Abdollah Jafari”. In the art scene he is known as “Abdullah Alavi”.
